Jorge Fajardo

Mexican tenor Jorge Fajardo has a bachelor’s degree in singing and a postgraduate degree in Mexican Concert Music Interpretation by the Conservatorio Nacional de Música.

Maestro Fajardo has played more than 17 title roles in the fields of Baroque opera, Romantic opera, operetta, zarzuela, musical comedy and concert repertoire.

He has performed in Mexico and in Israel, Germany, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Venezuela, and in Carnegie Hall in New York City.

As an actor, he has shared the stage with great actors such as Angélica Aragón, Aarón Hernán, Roberto D’Amico, Juan Ignacio Aranda and Paulina de Labra.
His merits as an actor have earned him the “Gaviota Maricela Lara” award as “Actor and Tenor Revelation.”

He currently alternates his performances with other activities such as choral director; from 2016 to 2019 he was chief director of the Choir of the Goethe Institut Mexiko, and, at present, as director of the Coral Caliopus of CENLEX Santo Tomas IPN.

He has also taught singing for more than fourteen years at the Academia Fajardo Arontes.
